Melisandre

In Game of Thrones, Melisandre was a priestess of R'hllor, the god of light, heat and life. She supported Stannis Baratheon in his claim to be the rightful King of Westeros, because she believed him to be a reincarnation of a legendary hero, Azor Ahai. Melisandre was born with the name Melony, until she was sold as a slave to the Red Temple. She received visions from R'hllor in flames. She could use magic to create a shadow assassin, and used a sacrifice of King's blood to gain favor from R'hllor.

Melisandre is a variation of the French name Melisande, which itself is a version of the German name Millicent. It means "animal strength." Melisandre does not appear in the Social Security Administration's name database.
